On the eve of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Albania and the 69- anniversary of the day of the victory of the Allied forces over Nazism, 46 British soldiers who fell during World War II in Albania,have been commemorated.
Homages was paid at the memorial of the british soldiers ,through a special ceremony organized by the civil society and the British Embassy ,near the lake area in Tirana.
The ceremony began with the anthems of both countries, after a commemoration of those who gave their lives, not only for remembrance, but also a tribute to their lives, which they sacrificed so that other generations can live in freedom.
Present at this ceremony were the Britain’s Deputy Ambassador to our country, Stephen Hickling, the prefect of Tirana Sadi Vorpsi, the Honorary Consul of Mexico in Tirana, Ylli Ndroqi and other dignitaries who put wreaths on the monument.
Every year, the British Embassy in our country holds a memorial ceremony for the 46 British soldiers, who fell during WWII in Albania, in honor of their sacrifices and self-denial.
